The ARBOR VITAE FIRE DEPT. has been busy over the past year, with new equipment

and members.

The department has purchased a new pierce pumper/tanker. This new truck

features a 1250 gallon pump, 2000 gallon water tank, a class A foam system and on

onboard 6000 watt diesel generator. Delivery time anticipated is February

2005. This new vehicle will replace a 20-year old pumper/tanker.

On Engine 1, there was installed a new intercom system, and

the two way radios were also improved giving them the ability to page.

Also purchased was a MSA Evolution 5000 Thermal Imaging Camera, this piece

of equipment has proved very useful in finding hidden fires in structures.

Mounted in our heavy rescue unit are two new 100-foot electric

rewind hydraulic hose reels for the rescue tools.
